To reach our office in Whittier, either drive
south from Anchorage, or north from the Kenai Peninsula on the
Seward Highway along Turnagain Arm. Be sure to watch for Dall
sheep on the cliffs above Turnagain Arm!
At mile 79 of the Seward Highway, turn onto Portage Road. Proceed
nine miles to the tunnel toll both. In the spring of 2000, a new
road that follows the railway road bed opened to automobile access
into Whittier for the first time. Connect to the
Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel
to see the tunnel schedule and availability.
After leaving the tunnel, continue into Whittier. Go over Whittier
Creek and past the Whittier small boat harbor. The Lazy Otter
Charters, Inc. office is next to the East Ramp. It is a two story
beige building with a green roof. Come on in for a fresh cup of
coffee!
