Lazy Otter Charters, Inc. is a small family run
charter and water taxi operation harbored in Whittier, Alaska. Lazy
Otter Charters, Inc. has been plying the waters of Western Prince
William Sound since 1994 showing both friends and clients the many
wonders Prince William Sound has to offer.

Captain Mike works hard to ensure that your trip
will be safe, pleasant, and memorable. Captain Mike Bender has the
following certifications:
- U.S. Coast Guard 50 Ton Inland Master
- PADI Advanced Open Water
- Red Cross First Aid
Captain Mike is a member of the North Gulf Oceanic Society,
Center for Marine Conservation, Alaska Travel Industry
Association and the Whittier Chamber of Commerce.

Our new vessel "Explorer",
designed and built in 1996, is a custom 30' aluminum
boat. It serves us well in providing the stability,
comfort, visibility and feel of a larger vessel in combination
with the speed, beachability, and maneuverability of
a smaller boat.
The Explorer has a heated cabin, an enclosed head
(bathroom), and is beachable for easy landings.

Our rates for water taxi service are economical and based on mileage
to and from drop-off and pickup locations. Day tours and escorted
sea kayaking costs are based on the number
of people (up to six) and your specific interests. Overnight tours
can also be arranged.
Scuba diving rates are based on a location/time basis.
We are happy to provide suggestions and logistical information to
make your trip into Western Prince William Sound safe and enjoyable.
